We Photograph Love

We photograph your special moments with the same love, care, and attention to detail we photograph our own family.

Photography is probably the closest thing we have to time travel. It can transport us to places, people, and moments that have long since passed, bringing back sights, smells, and emotions. We photograph with a modern photojournalistic style, capturing both the traditional wedding day portraits, while standing back and letting the day unfold naturally as we capture the myriad of emotions that rise and fall throughout your special day.

We shoot every wedding with 2 photographers and you will always get us (Katie and Doug) as your photographers. Doug and I both come from artistic backgrounds and have a unique and intuitive partnership. Doug is more technically minded and tends be great at figuring out solutions for crazy lighting situations and taking a couple's idea and turning it into a reality. I'm empathetic and emotional and I'm good at "feeling" out and capturing those beautiful little moments that happen when a bunch of people come together to celebrate love and family.

I have been working on my photography skills for over 12 years and in 2014 I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Intermedia from Western Michigan University. Doug has been practicing photography for 30+ years using a variety of cameras including Widelux, Medium Format Film, 35mm Film and of course digital.

When we're not photographing, I love spending time with Doug and our now two year old son, Phoenix and one month old daughter, Lilith. I also enjoy video games, traveling, a good Netflix binge and millinery (ladies' hat designing-think like Kentucky Derby type hats). Doug enjoys camping, drawing, writing, being outdoors, and competing in bicycle races when he has the chance. We love spending time together in nature as a family and try to get out at least once a week and go hiking. Phoenix loves being outdoors--walking, running, and of course, playing in the dirt! We recently did a family vacation out West to Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas that included a 3 mile round trip hike into and back out of the Grand Canyon and Phoenix walked over half of that all on his own!

We look forward to meeting you and your family and capturing your special moments and milestones! Let's talk soon!

Us on our wedding day! We eloped at Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. We braved the cold and wind for our vows and photos, then hurried back to the car and had a Pepsi toast.
